As rare and valuable as it is, it would be moreso if it had the original carb, valve covers etc, but it is his car and y'all are free to make it as you please. Nice work by the shop too. Enjoy.

Of course it would be more. Unfortunately to restore to that level is more than we can do. We have other commitments that are more important. He does enjoy it as is though.

just an added note... Talked to hubby. He said the original owner had removed all of the stuff mentioned by LeoP before hubby bought it. Also the motor in there is not the original 327 as I thought....

Nancy Your husband's '63 Vette is still very extraordinary, rare and valuable. It is that split rear window which also mesmerizes me. I assume that the 4 speed tranny and rear end are also original....

Nancy I do not know why the previous owner pulled the original engine but it sure would be nice to place a call to him to try to track it down. At least that is what I would do.

It is too long ago. We wouldn't have the funds to replace either. Hubby does not work on autos. I put my foot down about that. Autos see him coming gleefully. They like to thwart him any time he comes...
